I like looking at old magazines, they can be a mine of useful information when you're trying to solve issues with the more obscure retro computers. Whilst looking through this issue of the Japanese magazine Basic I found these pages on the computers being sold at the time (1990/01) #retrocomputing

@fatboy they won’t if what they did in Australia is the template. They will threaten to, but ultimately they won’t.

@RadleySlayz oh! I need to give this a go sometime if I ever find it out in the wild.

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world I feel your pain. Our pain. 😞

It's been a while since I posted anything of consequence and I yanked my most recent streams of consciousness off #gemini.

Not sure when that will change. For now, I'll keep boosting stuff here and there.

Maybe I'll draw up a new gemlog tomorrow to explore feelings, provide context, and keep from sounding like an intentionally mysterious pensive dweeb for no reason all over your feed. 😑

when someone asks for troubleshooting help but you need more details so they end up having to get back to you later

done, so if you are local and need a serial mouse I'll give you one xd

I think I’m one of the few iPhone and iPad users who really is super unenthusiastic about the hardware. So much so that I really can’t tell you what generation iPad I have other than I bought it a year ago or so… I simply like iOS and buy a new device when I need it.

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world it will be highly subjective, personally I had more fun with NES and 2600 than I did with SNES and the games are way smaller.

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world in terms of entertainment per kilobyte I wonder what system wins.

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world I remember reviews and developers mentioning the ROM size 😄 nowadays knowing how big it will be in my hard drive is important too.

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world agreed. The media was expensive, but we (or at least I) didn’t care about the hardware inside the cart, I just wanted to play the game.

There’s a lot of talk today about the price of video games, but considering what prices used to be back in the 80s and 90s we have it good today.

That’s 1995 in this photo and games are $100. With inflation that’s $195.55 today.

We don’t have it too bad.

Someone asked me, "What's the business case for websites integrating with #ActivityPub?"

Let me answer that question with a question: what's the business case for the web itself?

I don't have to make a page for the web. Instead, I can demand that everyone access my stuff through a BBS.

So why make a webpage?

If you answer that question, you also realize the business case for ActivityPub.
