@darth exactly. It isn't being done for piracy, it is being done by many to get the best experience. This is just a byproduct of the Switch specs being rather lowly and gamers used to better performance seeking to get that sort of performance with games in the Switch library.

It's like when gamers use XIM devices to get access to K&M or use unofficial gyro controllers. The initial incentive might not be to cheat but to get access to the superior control methods because they are either not supported by the platform they are using or the game they are playing.

The lesson here is that console makers and game developers need to keep up with the times to minimize users going their own way and solving performance or control issues themselves.

@darth yes it is the same. One of the issues with Switch emulation right now is that emulation can produce better performance than original hardware. SO the incentive to emulate is very strong indeed.

Your character is about to become a walking billboard. Enjoy that gamers? #gaming https://www.theregister.com/2022/12/20/microsoft_patent_ads_games/

I’ve just been playing #HaloInfinite lately. Anyway, here’s a clip of a game last night. What have you been playing? #gaming https://youtu.be/cJSDKNp7690

@DavidRodriguezjr gone as CEO. Of course, the company still belongs to him.

@squelch41 don't ever doubt Elon's ability to surprise you. It could be worse.

@rocam54@lor.sh you don't see something like this often. Before the days of social media, these things used to happen behind closed doors, but nowadays a billionaire can publish their own downfall on the Web and it is incredible to see.

@wandy_dev @gamingonlinux thank you.

@rocam54@lor.sh part of me is disappointed. I wanted to keep watching the car crash, it was kind of gloriously perverse to see.

@gamingonlinux deservedly so.

Elon Musk removed the “Chief Twit” title from his Twitter profile. I guess he meant it, he may be gone.
