One thing I really like in the stock Mastodon web app is this capability to hide/show boosts & replies in home timelines

@darth shall we create a game where you play a seagull and you have to s**t on Macron’s head? We could get Eric Cantona to narrate it.

@darth politicians never learn. Study after study shows there’s no link between video games and violence yet these gormless morons keep channeling their inner Joe Lieberman and defecating the same stupid insinuations out of their mouths. If they’ve not learned this one thing since the 90s how can they be trusted with anything else? Our politicians are the lowest of the low.

Thank you, Mastodon, for not being owned and controlled by a narcissistic billionaire with bad intentions.

@gpowerf Ability to have a chronological feed of *just* the people I follow would be a start..

What does need to replace for most people? Trending topics, better search, private messages with end to end encryption, a desktop version for the Web and a good API so you can use a variety of third party clients?

@carnage4life totally agree with you. The problem is that the incentive to write articles is to generate clicks, not to provide information. Drama and negativity generates clicks. This is exactly the same problem with social media algorithms, drama and negativity is pushed to the top.

Too much of tech journalism is creating narratives where either everything is terrible or everything is fantastic.

ChatGPT is less than a year old and we have no idea what its yearly usage trends are. With schools out for summer, perhaps lots of high school & college students are using it less and traffic will return in two months?

Way too early to claim AI revolution is now over due to one data point.

@richardknott wow. We need NIO here 😄 I envy my Norwegian colleagues having access to NIOs.

Went back to playing last night and it is sooo good 👌 I blame bloody from keeping me away from good games, it’s just so addictive.

My new favourite thing is this set of #Edifier S360DB #speakers.

My last bit of migrating away from Apple is getting rid of the Apple TV and my HomePod. My #Linux machine is now my HTPC, and with mpd running I have my vast flac collection on hand with a similar level of convenience to the HomePod.

Now I need a decent remote I can use with Jellyfin, and an easy way to route my record player's output through my speakers 🤔

Also. Either mullets are coming back or I’m around ice hockey players enough that I’m starting to think mullets look just fine and respectable.

Either cheerleading competitions are way way more popular than I ever imagined. I happen to be at the Motorpoint Arena and Nottingham Uni every time there is a cheerleading competition.

Mastodon went from 1.2M active users last week to 1.8M active users this week. That's not 70M users overnight, but it's something! 🙂
