Today I took the BYD Dolphin to the former home of Opo the Friendly Dolphin (predictable, I know) 😅 It's surprisingly peppy for quite a normal-looking EV. The official 0-100 time is 7 seconds, but it easily did 6.5 which is getting into hot hatch territory.

I am really quite excited about the two new Z80 kits that will be listed on z80kits.com in the next couple of days. Spoiler: They are not RC2014 kits!
The upcoming #Xbox controller seems to be pulling #Microsoft out of the controller dark ages straight into the present.
Two key features that were sorely needed are shown here:
* Accelerometer: Gyro aiming has become essential to many for FPS games, the days of having to use a third-party controller that allows you to map the gyro to the mouse or stick will finally be over! Native gyro implementations will be possible.
* Direct to cloud: Bringing the Stadia controller experience to Microsoft cloud gaming, this is really nice to have too! While Microsoft's cloud gaming isn't anywhere near as usable as #Stadia was it is slowly improving, I hope that eventually, it will catch up to where #google was years ago.

I keep coming back to Lemmings on the Game Gear. While it is missing some graphical details compared to other ports, it’s a surprisingly full featured port. And it looks gorgeous.

It bugs when I see serious comments about programming topics prefaced with something like, "I've been doing this for 10 years," followed by some ridiculously strongly stated opinion declared as an immutable fact.
Where do people get this confidence from? I've been professionally programming nearly 30 years at this point and I don't ever feel confident enough to assume I know *anything* for sure.
In fact, the older I get, the less sure I am and the more I've forgotten.

This is not surprising. Phasing out ICE cars, or gas boilers takes planning and preparation. Words alone cannot meet targets, some effort is required. And before anyone mentions it to be speculation, the fact of the matter is that these industries are built to consume one another. I'm glad the #SteamDeck is more open that most handheld gaming systems which guarantees a long lifespan but fucking hell. #Nintendo potentially getting acquired was not on my bingo card.

Incredibly happy with today's #RetroGame haul from Ipswich.
Every game here is a true classic.
I believe in #freeSoftware, we need free software and the recent #Unity case shows this. However, I also think that the #FSF is suboptimal and is not the best body to represent users’ needs, for various reasons. Some of these reasons are:
* The FSF is too radical or dogmatic in its views and actions.
* The FSF is too outdated or irrelevant in the modern software landscape, it lives in the long-forgotten past.
* The FSF is too ineffective or inefficient in its operations and campaigns, they preach to the same choir over and over again and never seem to reach new ears.
#Microsoft has stated that the #XboxSeriesX and #XboxSeriesS refresh will be all digital and will not have an optical drive. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I fully understand this. Using optical media feels like something we used to do a couple of decades ago. At some point, it has to stop, and I fully recognize that this creates some challenges with video game preservation. But does it really? #Games nowadays are so dependent on servers, patches, etc… that I suspect physical media or not the game preservation efforts cannot rely on discs alone. #gaming
