Ultimately this boils down to people campaigning for the government to lock up the internet so much that they don’t have to put in the effort to educate themselves & their dependents about being responsible online.

By this logic we should ban cars so we people don’t need to learn how to safely cross the road.

That’s not to say that online platforms don’t have a responsibility over the content they host, they do, but users also have a responsibility for how they act & use the tech as well.

Watching the Musk man discover that Apple charges 30% for any use of the App Store, and calling it a « secret tax » is hilarious. I don’t like that 30% commission but it’s not secret and has never been. It’s also not a tax.
Not surprising that Musk wouldn’t know what a tax is, though.
In general, watching that halfwit repeatedly destroy his public image with his own tweets is extremely satisfying.

The #foss https://bbcmic.ro Owlet editor has been updated!

* Better layout for mobile (54% users)
* BBC Micro screen coordinates on pointer

PS - We got 1.3K Owlet users in the past month - moving to Mastodon gave us a boost 🦣🚀

We’ve got better numbers than some metaverse efforts. In terms of hype #BASIC has been in the trough of disillusionment for a couple of decades however.

lmao, i didn't realize that Twitter's blog ties into its account display names.

It’s so odd to feel so connected to strangers on Mastodon. I feel comforted by the solidarity, common interests, and intelligence. I can barely hold a conversation with trumper family and friends anymore. That includes my 80-something parents. On every trip to see them, as we cross into the north Georgia mountains, I tell my hubby, you’re in trump country now darling.

As you're considering the other new Twitter alternatives, ask yourself if you really want to go to another corporate entity that could end up being just as bad as Twitter and Facebook. Algorithmic sites, by design, reward hate and outrage. You're jumping into another fire.

We have a rare and fleeting chance to build something different right now.

I'm choosing to spend my time trying to make this place succeed — helping new users and saving my best content for here.

Since I'm very fond of trees, moss and mushrooms I decided to give your prompt a try in NightCafé with Stable Diffusion. But I used digital painting rather than photo in my prompt. Thanks for the idea.

Next up tonight on the #Atari800XL with my #FujiNet is Attack of the Mutant Camels by @llamasoft_ox I always wondered what the correct attack vector is. Starting from the rear of the pack or approaching from the front. This is a great version. So colourful and the sound is awesome!
