New Steam desktop and Steam Deck Betas fixes up Big Picture Mode, Steam Input
Uncharted 4 performance problem fixed. I decided to replace Fedora by Ubuntu on the laptop I was using, did a clean install, enabled « force full composition pipeline » in the Nvidia settings, and now I get a smooth, stable 60FPS on medium, at 1080p upscaled to 4K, and no stutters.
Another case where Proton gets a better result than Windows did. Also, it made me use the old big picture mode, which isn’t that bad. New one is better, but doesn’t run well on Nvidia.
Went back on Birdsite for a moment (followed a news link about their blocking 3rd party API access now). Having not been on for a few weeks it was stark how much more awful & generally unpleasant to use it is.
Granted I've not been hugely active here either, been just less on socials which has felt positive, but still.
Playing Doom every now and then helps you going through this sad and complicated world #doom #gaming #dos #doom #retrogaming #firstpersonshooter #retroarch
Do you know what I think the #gaming world needs?
Better curated marketplaces. All the main marketplaces #Steam, #Xbox, #Nintendo, #PlayStation, and the #mobile ones are full of #shovelware. There needs to be a view (possibly the default view) with quality, curated stuff that you can rely on being a masterpiece created with real love and not just a crappy game.
And I don’t just mean AAA games (those often are crappy), I mean a list of works of art.
PS: I’ve been using the Steam store a lot because of #SteamDeck and wow! It’s terrible what makes it in there.
I’m enjoying playing #cyberpunk2077 between #SteamDeck and #GFN. Looks great on GFN with #RTX on. #CloudGaming for performance local for convenience… got it the wrong way round there to most scenarios, but it is working for me. #gaming
I really hope this doesn't mean the end of #Haloinfinite :( But I suspect it does. #gaming https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinite-developer-joseph-staten-is-leaving-343-industries-and-returning-to-xbox-publishing-report/1100-6510677/
✍️ "As Google Stadia enters its final hours, I wanted to express my gratitude to the whole Stadia Team and how they reignited my love for gaming."

🧡 Starting as a news site dedicated to #Stadia content, we wouldn't be here today. For that, and many other reasons, Stadia will always hold a special place in our gamers hearts.
As we say goodbye to the cloud gaming platform that introduced many of us to this way of enjoying video games, some of our contributors want to share their memories.

#Stray is one of the nicest games I've played in a while. And yeah, this is a #SteamDeck screenshot.
My wife Sarah firmly out on the picket line at the Christie Hospital in Manchester earlier today. 💪
She loves her work as a nurse so much, but she’s ruined after every 13+ hour shift being run ragged trying to care for more patients than is safe. With no breaks. Lucky if she gets to go to the toilet. It’s not on.
Oh and did anyone say, the pay is also pitiful. Small wonder they can’t recruit more nurses.
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
