@PhDMarie I think the teachers here should have a card for all the new people flooding in. Questions like - is this a good career? What courses do you need, etc.

I was thinking there's a scaling problem with continuous fusion. To up the power you need more confinement, but still release the heat. There's a cube/square problem here.

@freemo Here in Canada, growers are trading a pound of cannabis for two beers, according to an ex-grower.

@jellycrystals That sounds like fun. These days you could use a phone accelerometer.

@Floyd All temperatures and Arctic ice volume have been 'out of band' recently for the extrapolations. Is there a general belief that they will go back to the bands?

Physics must be difficult to teach in this modern electronics world. Is anybody having success? Using computer game physics? I know I never got anywhere with my spawn. :)

@Floyd The last bit is hooking. It's up to you to decide. This is from the monthly PIOMASS report.

The big problem is that it has to go up against the carbon hypothesis, and that doesn't go well.

I'm back with all this Twitter news. I hope we can do basic physics again.

I'm leaving Masto, just I left g+. It doesn't do anything for me. :( I'll just stick to my blog. Many thanks for all the fish.

@stephaniewalter@mastodon.social Wait until it gets colder. :)

@daviding I've been on tours in poor countries, and you *need* sealed containers. Viet Nam throws 8 billion tetra packs a year into the river. So, the question is how do you travel without adding to the problem.

@limits2growth In Toronto, all the milkweed is being pushed out by dog-strangling weed, which is a cousin. Doesn't look for Monarchs, unless they have a change of appetite.

Geotechnical - Our local creek is experiencing uncontrolled erosion. Partly a fault of cutting through the last caprock.

Drone delivery. There's a big river between them that is nasty to cross.
