@spinflip Has happened to me many times. You can try all the Linux disk recovery utilities, but they would have been automatically used without you knowing it.

I also called all the US earthquake people a bunch of idiots, as per Sheldon.

Anchorage, Alaska. I am calling Code Red for an M8, on my blog. Thank goodness nobody reads me.

@RomeoTBravo Many thanks, and I see you fired up your own instance. I might do that, but the instructions looked ridiculous.

Although I do earthquakes on my blog, I'm just staying away from Anchorage. :(

Anchorage Alaska earthquake m7. Damage reports seem light, but they are ones who still have Internet.

@cambridgeport90 Okay. I use whalebird, and when you hit 'toot detail' it shows the thread. neato.

@cambridgeport90 Ha, ha. I'm just used to open threads on g+ and old usenet. However, when looking at the local timeline, I can't detect it.

@cambridgeport90 It's funny, I'm retired and do the IT for a 86-ish old guy in a home. I got him (he's rich) a pixel book, and he didn't like it. Then he demanded to have exactly what he had before, and ordered his own hp pavilon. Now, I battle hp, ms, and google. They all want to suck up his data. Sad, and the big win10 update clobbered him. I was forced to enter dark world of ms to fix it. I was a big Unix person, and now run Linux. My kids all went ms. :(

@cambridgeport90
OOO-kay. Open source and ms. My mind must be in the gutter-80's. 😀

Okay, what does 'favoured your status' mean? I did look it up, and --- nada.

@cambridgeport90 Isn't it crap to have to work in bureaucratic ms environment, while all the good stuff is at home? 😜

Natural gas futures curve. All the money for futures is in the winter. Nobody cares about Spring.

Natural gas storage (USNE) is lowest in years. Futures are way up, but if they thought the US would run out of stored gas, then I would expect the futures curve to rise in Feb or Mar.

Today is International Update Your Router Day. I have my own Openwrt router bridging through the monoclone Bell Fiber router.

Today we discuss the Lapse Rate. This is what they measure with all those weather balloons. It is quite easy to run a model to see if the lapse rate is consisten with convection heat loss, or radiation. NASA is 100% for radiation (greenhouse effect). Who is the winner? I'm not saying for fear of muck.

The end of technological innovation. No more Scotch and THC, my muses.
