RT @glastris
if you care about the future of democracy, this is the one item that absolutely should be included on the short list of must-pass legislation in the lame duck session, and almost no one in the press is talking about it. Spread the word! ⁦@monthly⁩ washingtonmonthly.com/2022/12/

Not one of the 33 companies participating in a big trial of a 4-day workweek (with no loss in pay) is returning to a standard 5-day schedule. Productivity went up. Revenue went up. Absenteeism and turnover both went down.

EV Charging Station in Paris in 1898

In Europe & the US there were many competing electric, gas, and steam vehicle companies in 1890s to 1910s. This a woodcut work of art of a Paris electric vehicle charging station in 1898.

It is a photo of a wood engraving. It is by Gravure van Poyet & public domain.

Biden would make a good first Mastadon president. I hope there's an Oval Office instance in the works.

Here's some new photons I rescued before they crashed into my driveway

This is about 60h of total exposure time, shot over a bout a week, and shows LDN 1355 and the surrounding areas. Some people call this target the "Helping Hand".

So I not-so-low-key hate how the protests in China are being framed as protests against Covid-related policies in Western media.

They're protests against an authoritarian state's control of people's lives that happen to use Covid as an excuse!

Evidence continues to stack in favour of a 4 day week.

A global marketing company who's been running a 4 day week for a year and a half, called it "one of the most transformative initiatives we’ve seen in the history of the company."

USPol / SCOTUS

I'm glad to see more of the veneer coming off of the Supreme Court. Very little of what they do today involves good faith disagreements about jurisprudence, and they're long past the point of even a cynical realist view that jurisprudence is influenced by political outcome. There's zero consistency to any of what they do except the raw exercise of political power.
