Canada places 58 out of 63 in climate change performance ranking

Canada gets low marks for its efforts to tackle climate change in the new Climate Change Performance Index presented at COP27, scoring 58th out of 63 countries evaluated. But the federal government says they’re starting to make changes to improve the country’s standing

Here I explain that the icosidodecahedron, this beautiful polyhedron with 30 vertices, is the shadow of a shape in 6 dimensions with 60 vertices - and also the slice of a shape in 4d with 120 vertices, which is the shadow of a more shape in 8d with 240 vertices!

30, 60, 120, 240.

Let me briefly sketch the ideas here.

The pandemic has been one giant example of Brandolini’s law. Imagine if we didn’t have to spend so much time debunking:
- kids don’t get covid
- kids only get very mild covid
- lockdowns will cause waves of kid suicides
- covid doesn’t transmit in schools
- covid is mild
- covid is over
- covid is not airborne
- respirators are overkill
- ‘immunity debt’
- masks cause infections

How much safer would we be?
