12/5/22 Nature: FXR inhibition may protect from #SARSCoV2 infection by reducing ACE2 https://buff.ly/3UxyUzA

Ursodeoxycholic acid (#UDCA) , an FXR blocker, is a generic drug used for liver disease. It downregulates ACE2.

UDCA (aka Ursodiol or Actigall) has been used for cholestasis of pregnancy.

This study used UDCA in organoids, mouse/hamster models and in people and shows that UDCA may block or reduce the severity of #COVID infections.

What the EU and Ukraine's other allies are trying to do is to kneecap the economy of the world's largest oil&gas exporter amid a supply crunch and record-breaking fossil fuel prices. You shouldn't expect it to be a quick and easy job, but it's working.

https://t.me/KyivIndependent_official/12751 ⚠️🇺🇦 As Russia launched its sixth mass missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Dec. 5, Kyiv residents sheltered in the subway during the three-hour-long air raid alert. Trains continued to run during the attack. However, some stations got so crowded that trains didn't make the usual stops at them.

In many US states, such as New York and Califonia, the rate of Covid hospitalizations for seniors now exceeds the BA.5, BA.2 and Delta waves.
It's not getting enough attention as part of a new global wave, reviewed here:

Shame on all of these #media outlets with misleading headlines about #iran.

1) the morality police hasn’t been “disbanded” or “shut down”. A single official (prosecutor general) vaguely suggested “pausing” or suspending it for a bit

2) This is a play for international community to ease up pressure on the Iranian government. It’s a smokescreen.

Aljazeera seems to get it more accurately: https://apple.news/A4Qkjii46Se-CrZeZ2M1uzQ
