In the last few days I ... wrote about Elon Musk. I posted links to publicly available, legally acquired data as well as links to Mastodon, which also now is banned on Twitter.

Elon Musk is free to ban whoever he wants from Twitter, just like people are free to take their speech somewhere else.

Billionaires have too much power

Watching my friends who are journalists be suspended by Elon is outrageous. This is the type of behavior we see from third world dictators silencing their critics. It’s clear there was no violation of Twitter’s rules and this is just petty revenge for having the gall to criticize Elon.

@daphnehk I think the handful of quirky design opinions of some of the key developers (no quote-tweet, no full-text search) really reduces interactivity.

Twitter has been exactly the asynchronous water cooler I needed. (Because chatting with colleagues in real time is so inconvenient!) So far on Mastodon I'm not getting that -- there is almost no back and forth. I'm probably doing it wrong.

Ontario has kneecapped bivalent rollout to kids 5 - 11 by skipping press conference & relying on a press release and maybe a few handpicked media interviews.

Kieran Moore and Sylvia Jones have chosen politics over public health again by going this route that will limit media coverage of bivalent eligibility and vaccination program for kids.
