Want some pencercise (pen exercise)? Practice shading with ink lines. The finer your nib, the more subtle shading you can do. Experiment with paper rotation to see which angles work best for you for flicking the pen. I do best straight up and straight down.

Earlier this year, I visited Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, New Jersey for the first time. What a treat! This park has some really beautiful hiking trails. This section of the trail goes through a beautiful white cedar stand. Best viewed full screen!

Ever since I first encountered the green heron I've always been fascinated with its crest. I've always to get a great shot of that.

My dream came true when I was doing a morning bird walk and stopped to observe some deer playing in the creek. As they were playing, they flushed out this green heron in front of me with its crest up! I couldn't believe it!
