For me, this is the reason for rising early each morning. I love to see the sky in brilliant colors. And those colors reflected on the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River added to the overall glory of the beautiful dawn of a new day.

Up The Creek
Yosemite National Park is very large and there are many places in the park that I could say are my favorite part of the park. This is one of those areas.
This small branch of a creek that comes down off the mountain, flows under a small bridge and then flows roughly 100 yards, as seen here, before dropping roughly another 800 feet to the valley floor. This is a plant called Old Man's Beard. It's growing on the fence in my backyard. During editing, I flipped the photo upside, turned the green plant blue, and made everything else black and white.

it is FAR more important to work with someone who is kind, than someone who does exactly the research you want to do or is at a prestigious institution.

A man named Bruno Schröder, was a mining engineer for most of his life. When passed away in his 80s in June 2022, he had around 60,000 or so books spread out on the 4 floors of his house in Mettingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The books likely weigh about the same as 15 modern cars. 📚

Mount Rainier from Naches Peak Loop. There's a great trail over here. The first time, we started off on a deer trail inadvertently and it took a while for the trail to disappear before we realized had started in the wrong spot. Ha. This area has been so crowded the last couple of times I've been -since the COVID crowds at the National Parks.

Has anyone ever been to the Pumpkin Run car show in South Jersey. The junkyard alone is a treasure trove of abandoned cars and set ups like this one along with the thousands of cars that come for the actual show! Its a photographer's dream!
