Imaging showed that neurons in A1 encode sound, action, and errors. @jocelyn_etienne @erinnacland @academicchatter I don't mind research grants as such, but the competitive aspect of most grants is destroying academia.

A better approach is to have a low, fixed acceptance threshold for grants, beyond which all applicants get entered into a lottery.

Also, the "don't need to pay researchers if they're getting grant funding" culture is a problem. Researchers are employees, not business owners; universal funding should be the default / expected income source.
