PHIDOC

[For various technical reasons, I'm running late this month. July's Book of the Month and Track of the Month will be published circa 25th.]

Please note that June's Book of the Month is 'The Leopard' by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa and the Track of the Month is 'Komarovsky and Lara in the Hotel' by Maurice Jarre.

@mkwadee So true. Earlier in my life I engaged very seriously with Popper (and many other philosophers) - I'm glad that I did.

It is not ignorance that is the problem, but the illusion of knowledge.

Today's #Covid19Cymru stats show 3 deaths reported in the past 24 hours. That's under the average, and coming after the weekend (when there's often a bounce), that is relatively good news..
Total now 1510. Average (past week) 4.14

This is huge. The ACM is calling for an "immediate suspension of the current and future private and governmental use" of Facial Recognition technologies, for "both technical and ethical reasons."

Someone wrote to ask about my plans for the fall, and it took me a moment to realize they meant "autumn", and not "the collapse."

Well it was going happen eventually...

My dual boot laptop is now no more. Not the hardware. A freak lockup insisted (I'll avoid the long story) that I say 'Farewell' to Microsoft, (Thanks Bill Gates it was fun waiting in the car park of the Venetian resort in LV in 1999. Not!)

Yes, there are a handful of Windows programs that I have to run on Linux for various reasons, but I've finally made the switch, the jump, and I won't be looking back.

Please support Linux app developers as much as you can. A few euros here, a few dollars there. Also Wikimedia.

Anything else? Yes I need to sort out the issue of no access to the BIOS!
