Here's the graphs for today's #Covid19Cymru figures. Not good - at all. A "circuit breaker" really is needed, if not more.

Whatever the cause of the high number of cases and deaths reported today (946 & 10 respectively), they are the highest and second highest respectively, in this second peak.

To put Cardiff's 214 new cases into perspective: That's more than Ceredigion has had in total (since March - 163). It seems to me that local lockdown isn't working there.

We are in the first stages of a long anti-encryption march by the upper echelons of the European Union, headed directly toward Europeans’ digital front-doors.

Aberystwyth university are publishing their daily cases, which is a brave move (and to be applauded). There is 1 case today; there were none yesterday. As they say, these figures are not dependent on where the student lives, but most presumably have a GP in Ceredigion.

Sorry I haven't had much time this weekend to keep up with the #Covid19Cymru figures here.
Yesterday was a very bad day - with 21 deaths reported. One might immediately guess that these represented an unreported backlog - and one would be correct (Cwm Taf Morgannwg apparently being the culprits). Nonetheless, it still comes as a bit of a shock, and is the highest daily death figure reported since 13th May.
Today is more normal (for recent times) - 2.
7-day average now 5.57

“I am much more socialistic in my economic theory than capitalistic. And yet I am not so opposed to capitalism that I have failed to see its relative merits. It started out with a noble and high motive, to block the trade monopolies of nobles, but .. it falls victim to the very thing it was revolting against..today capitalism has outlived its usefulness. It has brought about a system that takes necessities from the masses to give luxuries to the classes.” - Martin Luther King, Jr. July 18, 1952

A&E (emergency room) treatment at my local hospital:
Genius boy here managed to poke himself with a hook at dusk last night putting away the gear. Not past the barb, but it bled some (which I encouraged) and then bruised making me wonder about a tetanus shot.
0925 saw triage nurse
0955 walked out of the hospital duly jabbed. That included the 15m required to assess a possible adverse reaction.
The canadian model isn't the best, but it ain't bad. Stated my name and BD. Forms signed: none. Cost: 0
