@fitheach
This is the basic problem in asking the People a yes no question (#brexit) in a highly complex case. As it was a nearly 50/50 result, now the chance that after some facts / consequences are getting clear, each party of the two extrems, is not comfortable with any of the yes / no options is near 80%... that the 'dont change anything' to mind the risks of #brexit or the deal with EU is rising popularity in the population is obvious... But parliament has own interests ;-)

‘We are on life support’: Doctor makes desperate plea from Yemeni city of Hodeidah as humanitarian crisis worsens

An additional five million people across Yemen will starve if fighting along the Red Sea coast continues to push up food prices

I'll leave it as an exercise as which 3 countries perpetuate this nightmare. Hint: other than the saudis, the other two are the usual suspects :-(

Google and Facebook are to our human rights and to democracy what Philip Morris is to our health and what Exxon Mobil is to the environment. Until we grasp this fundamental truth we haven’t a snowflake’s chance in hell of either effectively regulating them or funding alternatives.

@freemo I didn't understand your attachment to fountain pens. Then I encountered "how the ballpoint pen killed cursive" -- along with comparisons to fountain pens.

"A lifetime writing with the ballpoint and minor variations on the concept (gel pens, rollerballs) left me unprepared for how completely different a fountain pen would feel."

New branch on the tree of life

Canadian researchers have discovered a new kind of organism that's so different from other living things that it doesn't fit into the plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, or any other kingdom used to classify known organisms.

Two species of the microscopic organisms, called hemimastigotes, were found in dirt collected on a whim during a hike in Nova Scotia by Dalhousie University graduate student Yana Eglit.

In 2014, when Sierra Leone was hit by the Ebola outbreak, three local software developers kept the country's infrastructure working by rewriting it to #FLOSS. They saved hundreds of thousands lives when companies like Google and IBM backed off, calling the project too risky.

We surprised a Korean grandma living on $2 a day

Half of everyone over 65 in South Korea lives in poverty. I guess I was a victim of a stereotype about asian cultures in general.
