@spinflip Glad to hear the good news but always make backups. Always! Best Ian

@spinflip I hope you're making progress with recovering your files. It can be a slow and fraught process. Maybe you could air your concern(s) on a Raspberry Pi Forum (I'm sure there must be one). If you have doubts about the disk's surface integrity, I would thoroughly recommend Gibson's SpinRite V6.00 Release 1. It's proved a life saver on several occasions. If you need more info or help about this, just let me know.

@spinflip Try using recovery software like Recuva or WinHex. Best of luck. PS Always make backups. Boring but essential!

Leading up to the #brexit vote on 11th Dec, it seems there are 4 potential outcomes:
1. Vote approved, transition exhausts and we get stuck in the backstop.
2. Vote approved, then move to something closer, e.g. Norway.
3. Vote fails, gridlock, no-deal
4. Vote fails, no Brexit.

Confused about Brexit and #MeaningfulVote ?!

#austerity was bad, so Tories distract with "EU!" by means of #brexit

But that's not enough anymore, so now they lump in "Russia!"; and now we're enemies with everyone significant to our east (except murderous Saudis) and befriend the #OrangeNazi (West)

Someone asked this a.m. on here why elderly, sick people have to walk all the way to the back of the market for their prescriptions while relatively healthy tobacco addicts get their drug at the front near the entrance?

So there was a big protest today by schoolkids who blew off school and marched in the streets over government inaction on climate change.

The Prime Minister has said they should be less activist and focus on their schooling instead.

I just saw this sign. These kids are great.

Deutsche Bank headquarters raided over money laundering

Again.

In 2016 alone, more than 900 customers were served by a Deutsche Bank subsidiary registered in the British Virgin Islands, generating a volume of €311m, the prosecutors allege.

In 2017, Deutsche Bank was fined $630m (£504m) by US and UK regulators in connection with a Russian money laundering plan. Under the scheme, clients illegally moved $10bn out of Russia.

It's just a habit... bbc.com/news/business-46382722

Yes, we shall probably remain in the EU if the MPs at Westminster finally come to their senses. However, the UK is already a loser as a result of invoking Article 50. The ongoing reputational damage to the UK will possibly cost the country 5-7 billion euros year-on-year for the next fifteen years! Thanks Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, John Redwood, Bill Cash, Kate Hoey, Frank Field and a cast of thousands. You did us proud, NOT!
