Protests against the imprisonment of the Catalan political leaders continue. There are Marches for Freedom and a General Strike across the whole of Catalonia.
These peaceful demonstrations are growing in spite of (and perhaps because of) intimidation and beatings by the Guardia Civil, Spain's paramilitary police.

I remember visiting Canada in 1979 with my late wife and spending some time in a bookshop on or close to Yonge Street, Toronto. I picked up a book entitled to 'What has Pierre Trudeau done for Canada?' (or a very similar title). The cover was very nicely printed. I opened it up only to discover a hundred or more blank pages! Should have bought it.

None of this stuff is straightforward. It really isn't!
I think the argument for ID is far from straightforward. There are many issues here. Some of them are historical, some of them are cultural, some of them philosophical and some of them technical. It's not just about cost and access. See:

@freemo But it won't be a free process and it is very unlikely that people will receive any help whatsoever. All it is likely to do is disenfranchise the following groups: the poor, the vulnerable, young people and the very old. Not good. Ultimately just a cynical bid to skew the franchise as has been happening in the USA over past nine years. See:
