Today's #Covid19Cymru figures should serve as a warning to us all that this really is not under control, and that we all need do our bit to help (yes, including the hospitality sector).
1645 new cases (the third highest).
7-day average: 1220 - UP 28
R (estimate): 1.19 (UP 0.02).

Cases going up is bad enough, but the fact that R is still going up is a sign it's out of control. We can't carry on like this, and I am not sure the measures taken yesterday will be sufficient.

There were 24 #Covid19Cymru deaths recorded.
7-day average: 24.57 - DOWN 0.71
This figure has been hovering along in the mid 20s for a month now. Are we really OK with that many people dying every day in Wales? I'm not.

The figures for #Ceredigion go up again. 32 cases were recorded today.
7-day average: 17.71 - UP 2.14
R (estimate): 1.09
Note that with a smaller population, figures are more prone to noise.

@gemlog At the moment, Wales is all under the same restrictions, though there has been a suggestion that this might change.
Before our lockdown, there were different rules for different places, but these were decided by the central (Cardiff) government, not the individual regions.

'Have you taken a look at Alberta?': Ontario health minister criticizes province's response to COVID-19

What? "Pot, meet kettle. Kettle; Pot..."
In the game of life only one thing counts: living. Ontario has a death rate from covid of 25/100,000. Alberta is 13!

We've had a few days now where the #Covid19Cymru figures have felt right, statistically. Today's 1471 cases is around the area we would expect; if anything, a touch low, as Friday is normally the highest of the week (so that's good news).

Because last Friday's was not one of those days (it was lower than it should have been), the average, and R, look worse than they should. Tomorrow should see a corresponding fall.
7-day average: 1192 - UP 53
R (estimate): 1.17 - UP 0.06

I do not disagree with you. The same kind of person who wants to be a cop or join the proudboyz also aspires power by being a politician!
In general. There are the odd, very, very few, Rare exceptions.

Part of moving rental housing means swapping all the expensive RGB wifi bulbs with regular CF lamp bulbs.
"Sorry - what??" "I need to walk over to the lamp to turn it on? Like actually move from my phone?" "I have to locate a physical light switch on a wall?" No evening and morning red/blue hue cronjobs?

"UK government decided to drop a bombshell on the Welsh Government, economy and indeed devolution itself. With infrastructure a major beneficiary of the long-overdue ‘levelling up’ agenda, the UK government decided to reduce the relative amount Wales will receive from investment in England from 80.9% in 2015 to just 36.6% in 2020." 😱

Today's #Covid19Cymru cases figure of 1473 comes as no surprise. It is certainly high compared to some recent days which saw under-reporting, but it is more or less exactly what we'd expect with the current estimated R figure.
7-day average 1139: UP 31
R (estimate) 1.11: UNCHANGED

There were 11 new cases reported in #Ceredigion, taking the 7-day average to 14.43: DOWN 0.57.

I am reminded of this line (maybe from one of the Bulwer-Lytton contests?):

"Oh shit, it's the end of the world," he said, missing his last chance to prove that he knew the difference between scatology and eschatology.
