Looking for a service that monitors all my watched GitHub repositories for new releases - and ideally provides them as an RSS feed.

There must be... something?

The role of the media in all this: journalism is almost completely absent from the the mainstream media which are now tools of the super-rich to extend control over those they exploit.

True journalists risk their careers, if not their lives, by reporting objective truth and not the talking-points dictated by the controllers of information.

I once thought that the Internet would bring relief from such stranglehold but the big-tech companies have succeeded in closing that down also.

Someone was asking about my #Covid19Cymru graphs recently. I've been away, and although I kept a note of the figures, I didn't update the graphs. I have done now, and here they are - quite a difference to when I went away.
Obviously we are all concerned about the cases rising, but the comforting thing is that, although deaths went up quite suddenly, they seem now not to be increasing further.
But we have just had a weekend; watch the figures over the next couple of days.

The structure of #cabbage is amazing. I’ve tried to capture it in #CloseUp here to show the repeated branching from the stem to the leaves.

The Free Software community in Kerala convinced teachers why it is important and even when they were not at all tech savvy, the grasped the importance and demanded the govt to switch. So how we look at the situation is the most important thing. The teachers maintain a custom GNU/Linux distro with all the software they need included in it. #FreeSoftware #Kerala

Heh. 🙂 A cleaner in a Russian village enters an election because the rules say there must be at least two candidates and her boss (the other candidate) persuaded her to enter. Then she goes on to win by a landslide.

And for completeness, here's the graph of Covid related deaths over the last month in Wales, to 29th September (using the official figures).

I joined Mastodon a few days ago and been trying it out. I don't know anybody here but many people seem friendly and seem to like many of the things I like.
My job is in medical research but I also code, follow and support a few developers whose work interests me. I'm a GNU/linux user of many years. I completely degoogled, I like FOSS and online privacy is a priority for me

RT @AsmadiGames
Far too many people last night stared fascism in the face and said "I want more years of *that*".

Far too many people last night stared fascism in the face and whined "ehhh but the alternative isn't *quite* good enough".

Both are horrifying. Vote.

Official daily increases of #Covid-19 cases in the #UK are now higher than ever, even during the time when hundreds were dying daily. For two days in a row, the rise has been over 7000. The death rate is also going up but it’s currently at 1% of the infection total. There is obviously a lag in that too.
