In 1951, a 66 year old man wasn’t allowed to enter a 1800km (1118 miles) long bicykle race due to being to old. He showed up anyways and won the race by biking for days without sleep. He got the nickname ”Grandpa Steel”.

With all those #Covid19Cymru warnings in place, here's the chart for local authorities. It's interesting to see how Ceredigion is right back down from 46 to just 2, sharing bottom place with Môn, and - of all places - Denbighshire. Top, at 61, is Cardiff.

I have no idea whether testing in non-NHS labs - which is not included in today's figures - is distributed evenly across Wales or concentrated in certain areas. So any comparisons have to bear this in mind.

NO! OMG! This is big news!
A corporation lied? No!! Just to make money?!? No! That can't be! Well. My unbounded faith in capitalism and unbridled greed is slightly shaken! (not stirred)

Today's #Covid19Cymru figures might look bad at first sight, but are actually relatively good news.
Recall that yesterday's case figures were artificially low due to a data failure from non-NHS labs. And despite that, the 7-day average still goes down 39 places to 947.
45 deaths sounds awful too (of course every death is a tragedy) but it's up just 1 on last Wednesday, so the 7-day average deaths creeps up 0.14 to 24.14.
I predicted the peak the second half of this week, so that's looking good.

Today's #Covid19Cymru cases figure of 931 is a little disappointing. It is significantly lower than last Monday's figure (and hence the 7-day average goes down), but that figure was artificially high because of data carried over from the previous day due to the "bungle" I mentioned yesterday. It's up on yesterday's 744. And I can't see a pattern of Mondays being higher in the past.
But noise happens, and let's hope it's just that.

If schools going back last week had an adverse effect, we probably wouldn't see that quite yet (but maybe soon).

Ceredigion 46 today! (News of a care home in Aber having an outbreak).
RhCT, Cardiff and Swansea all double figures. Môn bottom with 3.

8 deaths were reported. It's normal for deaths on Sunday and Monday to be lower (last Monday was just 3), so the average goes up again, by 0.71, to 21.43.
There are a few more days to go yet before I anticipate the peak in deaths being reached.

OK. Now that the dust is clearing on the election, there's a thing us liberals, leftists, not-centrists, whateverthefuck we call ourselves, are going to have to work on: our storytelling. (Thread.)

Today's #Covid19Cymru figures show a continuation of the predicted trend - up for deaths (and will be for a few days yet), down for cases (and that's despite last Sunday's cases figure having been artificially low due to a data bungle).
Deaths: 19
7-day average: 20.71 (up 0.43)
Cases: 744
7-day average: 1184 (down 11)

Due to the cases data bungle last Sunday, and correction last Monday, tomorrow's cases figure will reduce the 7-day average a lot more.
