UK facing risk of 'systemic economic crisis', official paper says - theguardian.com/politics/2020/ misery is coming next year - all self-inflicted, all completely unnecessary and avoidable #brexitreality

Today's #Covid19Cymru figures are all good news.
There were 595 new cases reported today, which if a true reflection of the number of cases, is excellent. To me it feels a little too low, though so have the last 2 days. Maybe something's happening
7-day average: 860 (DOWN 16)

There's even some good news in #Ceredigion, where there were 10 new cases, bringing the 7-day average down just a little (0.3), to 11.3.

@General

“A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.
The other is good- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you—and inside every other person, too."
The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The elder simply replied,
"The one you feed.”

Unfortunately, today's #Covid19Cymru case figures seem to confirm my suspicion yesterday that the figures were artificially low. They're back up today. Looking at the green 7-day average line in the chart, it's still unclear which direction we're heading post-lockdown.

It's premature to claim that Wales' lockdown was a success;

At worst, it might have only stalled the progress of the outbreak for a month (the 2 weeks of lockdown, plus 2 weeks to go back up again - which is quite possible yet).
1048 new cases today
7-day average 907 - UP 26

Deaths, which are still going down as a result of lockdown (mean time to death is around 3 weeks from infection), are down. 23 today takes the 7-day average down 1.57 to 23.57.

Ceredigion cases 7, but that leaves the 7-day average around 10.

Good news for Canada! Canada proposes new privacy bill that allows Canadians to force companies to destroy all data they’ve collected about them. Sounds a bit like the GDPR has traveled across the Atlantic. 😀👇

Today's #Covid19Cymru figures are good news. 7-day averages are down for both deaths and cases. We'd expect deaths to be dropping now (it reflects the lockdown still), but to see cases dropping, 9 days after the end of lockdown, is very good
- although it's not been an even fall for the past few days. So I am far from confident that this is not just a problem with the data (though if it were, PHW should have said so here: covid19-phwstatement.nhs.wales).
7-day average down 41 to 881.
