"Can Omicron evade detection from PCR and lateral flow tests for Covid-19?"

Daughters family have been ill for 5 days. Continuous new cough, high temperature and generally unwell.
My daughter and her 6 week old baby are ok.
They have been doing lateral flow tests every day on each of them, it's a nasal test they got from school, they are teachers
All the tests are negative but, can we trust them and are there any updates proving that Omicron's new variants could evade LFT and/or PCR tests?

Masto? *So* much engagement. So much fun discussion. So much more community.

Numbers don't mean squat if you don't have the follow through. I've never sold a single piece of art through Insta. People on Insta like passively browsing through images and tapping the heart. For an artist, it's a useless audience.

Which part of “everything is for sale” and “profit is all that matters” did you think excluded human rights and democracy?

You cannot fix this within a system that worships at the altars of billionaires and sees human pain and suffering as merely an inconvenient externality.

This.

And it’s not just Putin.

Exploiting greed is the cornerstone of every modern autocrat and wannabe autocrat’s playbook.

When we say capitalism is the slippery slope to fascism this is what we mean.

This is where you end up if your compass has profit as its true north.

@freemo Since many chips are leveraging quantum effects now...you're saying quantum mechanics is the assembly language of assembly language. And if the hidden variables hypothesis is true, there's assembly for QM! By induction we claim it's turtles all the way down; this is left as an exercise for the reader.

Here’s a nice #sunset shot this evening. I like the #collage of miscellaneous shapes that from the horizon, natural and artificial and the deep #red and #orange #colours capture in the rest of the frame.

It's funny that companies using an open office to save money are often the ones not willing to go full remote because they are worried it will hurt productivity.

Today is the end of the #FinancialYear in the #UK for anybody who cares. For ages, I didn’t know why this date was chosen to be the transition from one tax year to the next but it turns out the reason is that it’s from the old ecclesiastical #calendar with an adjustment made from the old style (Julian) to the new style (Gregprian) calendar.
