UK to lift import restrictions on food from Fukushima
- https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/jun/29/uk-to-lift-import-restrictions-on-food-from-fukushima another clear #brexit benefit: radioactive food - lucky us...

A real pleasure this morning to chat to Mark Drakeford (yes, the First Minister one!) about active travel as I was taking the kids to school.

Yesterday at our first meeting of the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales we heard about the amazing things Welsh Government is doing for #ActiveTravel in #Wales, and it was a delight to see Mark using an electric bike for the first time!

What a lovely guy too. Inspirational in an understated way, maybe for future First Ministers!

Ha, this is amazing!

Looks like I'll have 8 hours of solid meetings every day this semester, so course prep will happen ... in my sleep?

Rightwing politics the world over right now: bereft of ideas for how to solve the crises their myopic fetishisation of nationalistic capitalism has inflicted on us:

Marking as #NSFW on grounds of taste. The mayor from #Jaws would probably sue Johnson on grounds of making him look bad.

Thanks @ashneehs for suggesting I check out Brian Lagerstrom - today's breb is a teensy bit better than yesterday! XD

It's about 3:1 plan to whole-wheat flour. Had an oopsie with the first 30 minute rise, it's cold here so I put it in the oven's warming drawer, which I've never used, and it got significantly hotter than I had anticipated with the bowl coming out too hot to touch so that probably messed it up a bit XD And definitely need to use less water, it's humid here. But yay breb!

“Mr Johnson & Liz Truss believe a post Brexit deal with 11 pacific-facing countries could boost exports by £18bn”

In other news the OBR says Brexit will reduce productivity & UK gross domestic product by 4 % - a level of decline worth about £100bn a year in lost output

I get so sick of reading comments on here deriding "the British" for "voting for Brexit". MOST OF US DIDN'T. 17.4 million, out of an electorate of 46.5m (total population 65.6m) voted to Leave in an advisory referendum.
It was not a result that should EVER have been acted upon.

‘We completely reject any suggestion that GPs do this work,’ the British Medical Association said https://nation.cymru/news/doctors-dismiss-uk-government-plans-for-gps-to-prescribe-energy-discounts/

I watched this on BBC iPlayer but it must be available elsewhere if you can't get it.

This documentary about Maya Angelou, was made in 2014 a few years before she died.
It's
Very interesting, mind-opening, moving, funny, heartbreaking, thought provoking & many other things, including leaving me speechless at times

Amazing how a person's life can make you examine your own🤔

Can we become any more hypocritical?

You're supposed to judge her work, what Sanna Marin is doing at parties is 👏 none 👏 of 👏 your 👏 fucking 👏 business.

If you think otherwise, I'm sure you would be delighted when people publish your shit-faced party photos.
