Given the sad news about Bandcamp, I decided to bid it farewell by listening to my favourite band there, Rachel's, and also Rachel Grimes, and awesome pianist and composer.

If Pepper&Carrot was a TV Show, what optimal lenght for an episode? Target audience? Type of stories? 2D or 3D?
I just had a meeting with a studio and we are curious to know your opinion. Thanks for the help 😻

I was thinking that _Pleasantville_ was one of the best movies of this millennium, when it dawned on me that I had watched it in cinemas (twice) in 1999.

Listen, piracy is a myth.

I used to download a lot of stuff in the past, when I did not have any money. But as soon as I got a little bit of money, I ended buying most of the stuff I pirated in the past.

I actually did buy all of the fighting games I used to play illegally in the past. I bought many old games I played illegally in the past. I bought actual ROMs legaly from SEGA from games I actually like. I even bought Unreal games and even the very first Rayman on GOG. Even though I actually torrented those in the past and had them on my HDD. Just to say that I actually have a legal copy of them.

Because I love these games.

DRMs don't solve anything. Sending people to prison just for raping your game console won't solve anything either. People will still jailbreak your hardware and break your DRMs. And the worst part is that the most affected people is always the legal consumers, because those are always the ones that have issues with the DRM while people pirating this content can access it for free without problems.

Besides, if someone does not have the money, they won't spend any money on it anyways.

You can snort anything with a can-do attitude

I will never cease to be amazed by people who can draw. Whenever I watch someone do it, I feel like some kind of magic is unfolding in front of my eyes. It fills me with wonder.

Then again, I'm amazed by people who can tie their own shoelaces in what appears to be one swift motion. I still do it counting the steps to this day. Each shoe takes me half a minute to tie.

Great news! Only a few years ago, we were asking Dave Gilbert to port his games to Linux, and he replied that it was too much effort for such a small market.

I recently became an active member of @codeberg@mastodon.technology, and I must admit I'm not exactly happy about it.

All they do in the internal discussions is talk about TOS and selling swag. I wish they were more focused on free software and collaboration than on policing speech.

I, for one, am only interested in discussing technology and software, and I assume most other active members are like me, so why would we ever need a TOS?

And swag? If we have so much money that we can invest (more like spend, really) some on mugs, t-shirts and long socks (?), maybe we should look first at collaborating with other institutions with similar goals, or supporting whatever free software projects we decide as a community and establishing synergies that way.

I don't know, it all feels so... _gentrified_.

Advert in today's Australian @FinancialReview: Julian Assange faces extradition to the US and a 175 year sentence simply for publishing truthful documents #auspol #FreeAssangeNOW #DickSmith t.co/oDbWYI63Qm

It should be clear to anyone who has read _The Test_, the comic strip where the Bechdel Test came from, that its original intent had nothing to do with female representation in movies. It was just a way to determine whether a lesbian would be interested in watching them.

Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate.
-- Bertrand Russell

#anarchism #quote #bot

It has always amazed me that the very first thing reactionary thinking (and by this I mean valuing law and order more than freedom) attacks is sexuality. What's the logic behind that? How does satisfying a healthy and natural urge become the main source of anarchy in the world? And when in history has that happened? The 1960s, for instance, were cool: Great music, the birth of the peace movement and environmentalism. What was so dangerous about that? We'd be living in a much better world now if we had kept those ideals.
