Lately I''ve been drafting a lot of responses and subtoots strongly disagreeing with people on many issues. I tell myself while I'm writing that I don't give a fuck about their reaction, but then I always end up deleting the post, because, let's face it, I want to make friends.

You don't need to fav everything I say, especially if you reply to it. I assume you at least read it. And if you didn't, that's none of my business. You're free to do with my replies whatever you see fit.

My partner and I are supposed to move to Ireland, from the USA, in a month. Still haven't found any housing. Gah!
Anyone know anyone who may be able to help us out? We're both artists/academics, and my partner has a job already at UCD in Dublin. We just need a place to land, even if its temporary. House sitting, apartment, house rental, private rooms, we're open to anything within 1 hour commute to Dublin via public transit.
If you know anyone who could help we would greatly appreciate it! We're almost in despair-mode 😅
I don't have a lot of followers on here, but feel free to boost this post if you're comfortable doing that!
I shouldn't have gone to the psychologist today when I had nothing interesting to share. I should have gone tomorrow, when I could have told her about how my life has completely crumbled in just a few hours and it was all her fault.
I can't shake the feeling that psychologists try to make you feel miserable in order to justify their work.
I know certain people will call me gay for saying this, but I would like to humbly ask that you use a CW whenever you post pictures of Hillary Clinton or Bill Gates, because, to be honest, I find them disgusting. Thank you.
What's with US people and their weird obsession with A/C and ice cubes?

@bsmall2 Easy for me to carp from the sidelines I know. But the FSF/E seem to mostly work on convincing people it's a good idea to upcycle devices, and often end up preaching to the choir. It occurs to me they might achieve more if they helped coordinate (and get funding) for the work to get more devices supported, make installing replacement OS easier etc.

Something a bit different today...
There's a really nice Fediverse admin on here called @stux who provides lots of free decentralised public services (public instances of Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Matrix, Nitter, Invidious, Searx etc).
Stux is spending hundreds of euros a month so that these services remain free and operational.
Apparently Stux has had a tough time finding work recently, but has their own small business which provides web hosting.
If you're looking for a small indie hosting provider, this might be a really good choice as the money raised will help keep the Fedi going too:
(I'm sorry to embarass you Stux, but I think you deserve a shout-out for the good work you do!)

After over 11 and half years since he was first arrested in London in December 2010, kept in arbitrary detention and then imprisoned in London’s maximum security Belmarsh, the British government has dispensed with all legal norms and signed an order that could well result in Assange’s death.
UK Home Secretary Patel approves extradition of Julian Assange to the United States https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2022/06/17/ffng-j17.html

Priti Patel will not be happy until she has deported every single person in the UK and stands alone on these isles.
Today she's decided to send a Journalist to America for explicitly political reasons, to punish him for exposing the war crimes of the UK and it's allies.
All journalists should be afraid now that they can be extradited to the jurisdiction of the government whose crimes they expose, and put in jail until they die.
🤞 for the appeal.
