After being offline (and even not really using my computers much) for over a week and not really missing it, then coming back and seeing news of big tech privacy issues, and the US's current sanity issues, I'm kinda thinking maybe just going back to the 80s/90s, using computers that aren't hyperconnected and going back to BBSs and BBS parties for socialising.

Keyboard, cartridge, disk, joysticks. :-) Sound is oddly quiet, but also works nicely.
And the board offers pins to run a shielded luma signal for a slightly clearer picture. Nice touch! 
(The board got a temporary home in my breadbin case until I found something nicer)

RC-BOX BBS is turning 1 year this month - time to celebrate!
Would you believe it? Indeed this month marks the 1st anniversary of RC-BOX BBS, the world's first and (currently only) #rc2014 based buelltin board system.
And what an effort it took to get the all the CP/M tools customized, configured and compiled / assembled.
...and than the need for that "DCD line" hack on the SIO/2 board!
The initial install used the "MBBS" software for CP/M instead of "RBBS4" but once I found the BDS-C code for "RBBS4" I adapted that code to make use of some special #rc2014 hardware modules and switched the system over to "RBBS4".
Since then, 1164 calls were received and 84 messages have been posted to the "General" message file (message file ID #2).
There are at least two or three regular callers which is a lot, given the plain nature of the system (and the general unwillingness of people to dial in to BBSes, except for their own 😋)

Still available to download to try/buy for Windows and Mac.
Just tested the latest Mac binary (Universal PPC and Intel compiled in 2012) and it works fine under Rosetta 2 on a M1 Max MacBook with my screen saver license from 2015. 🤓

I enjoy reminders that people have been thinking about the consequences of computing technology for a long while:
