#snakemake_wrappers 1.19.1 are released, with 90 updated wrappers. https://snakemake-wrappers.readthedocs.io #sciworkflows #reproducibility #modularization
@freemo I had a course on Logical and #FunctionalProgramming in college (in the 90s), and I remember falling in love with the language at first sight. And back then the compiler was just slooow. 🤦♂️
But I loved the functional paradigm and the elegant style embedded in the language. Just like you, I always thought the difficult part was to find a real project to work in, or at least, one related to my main area of work.
The famous example that always comes to mind is Pandoc.
I'm trying to get into Rust lang (again). For now the formula that's working for me it's doing some katas at https://exercism.org/tracks/rust in a weekly basis (I don't have much time and energy to spend on it, so I'm not starting big side projects ATM).
So far I think it's working, because I'm fighting the Borrow Checker less and less (and fighting more the Enums and Traits, for example 😂).
#RStats Somehow I didn't know that you can define an entire {targets} workflow **within** a(n) Rmd / quarto document(s).
https://books.ropensci.org/targets/literate-programming.html#target-markdown
I think I prefer having documents as the **output** of an overall workflow that is in code, and using comments to break it up, but, definitely an option.
@smach Most of the time I start scratching ideas on a notebook (Quarto nowadays). When a bunch of code starts repeating once and again, then it's time to put it into a package. Then refactor, extract functions from the notebook and the wheel keeps spinning.
The original notebook usually ends up being a complete junkyard, but hey, that's maybe an accurate image of my brain. 😆 🧠
One of the first things I noticed on Mastodon is just how many people are out there. All the people that the ornithologist's algorithm was hiding from me, and no doubt hiding me from too.
I wrote a quick introduction to Mastodon, meant for beginners and with a particular emphasis on scientists. Feel free to share with your community outside of Mastodon!

I found this blog entry about #MLOps to be quite interesting.

Sometimes, with all the technologies that are being born every minute, it's hard just to know where you stand.
Time for an #introduction. :)
Data scientist tooting from the north of #Spain. Most of the time I use #R and #Python, but I wish I had the time to learn #Rust properly.
I have a PhD in #MachineLearning. I have worked in several fields, from #ComputerVision to #Bioinformatics.
I love #Literature, #Movies, #Music and going for long walks.
purrr 1.0.0 is scheduled for release on Dec 19. You can read about what's new in https://github.com/tidyverse/purrr/blob/main/NEWS.md, or wait for the blog post 😀 #rstats
Data Scientist. PhD in Machine Learning. Developer. I have a past in Bioinformatics. Usually playing with R, Python and other languages. Wish I could be younger to learn Rust or Elixir.
Hobbies: reading, writing, walking, music, movies.
