Why is Google pushing an ad for a #typosquatter to the top of its search results for "humble bundle"?

Fake site presents a convincing login screen, presumably aimed at stealing creds of registered Humble Bundle users.

There are so many (so so so many!) things I could have included here, but it seems notable that not only is Elon Musk jumping around the content moderation learning curve... he doesn't actually seem to be learning anything. techdirt.com/2022/12/01/elon-m

Why is it that whenever lawmakers have to confront corporate greed, they roll over and penalize workers who are most immediately harmed by it?

@doxy_cycling I am such a knucklehead! #adventofcode is "an Advent calendar of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill sets and skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like." It is run by Eric Wastl and you can find more information at adventofcode.com/.

It is extremely well done. Puzzles get more complex over the month. Many will post solutions and thought processes so I've found it's a nice way to learn too!

The City of #Denver is planning to conduct sweeps (forced displacement) of people experiencing #homelessness tomorrow despite snow and sub-freezing temperatures. Sweeps in normal weather are cruel & harmful. Forced displacement, where police dispose of tents, sleeping bags, clothes, IDs, & meds in the middle of a #winterweatheradvisory is cruel, inhumane, and unnecessary. This is state sponsored violence led by Michael Hancock, mayor.

As right-wing extremists are re-platformed everywhere from Twitter to Mar-a-Lago, it’s more important than ever that we hold our journalists, researchers, & others to high standards of accountability when it comes to reporting on extremism and extremists. We need journalists who will tell us the truth, not stake out a position in the middle of two unequal sides. I keep coming back to this quote about reporting on the weather, but it was missing something — so I modified it to make it complete.
