In which I try to sus out the difference between "settler" and "coloniser" since I've been labelled as both and see myself as neither
A re-introduction:
- I live in a small town in the middle of the Alberta prairie with my wife and kids.
- I work from home as the IT sysadmin for a private school board that serves 6000+ students throughout the province.
- I spend my spare time with strange liquids: photo chemicals, beer, and kombucha
- English is my first language, but I'm decent in Dutch thanks to my dad.
I think part of why I feel the need to fill the silence with music/podcasts/audiobooks is because when I don't have something to pay attention to with my ears (like in the shower, when I had this realisation) my brain starts running around ideas, potentially getting distracting from what I'm actually doing
