The fifth and last SwiftData talk this year is the most in-depth: Session 10196 "Dive deeper into SwiftData" https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10196/
There are still a few #WWDC23 Slack Activities happening today (including, but not limited to, a Meet the Presenters of Design with SwiftUI session @ 10am PDT, a Q&A on SwiftUI for visionOS @ 12pm PDT, and a Q&A on SwiftData @ 2pm PDT)! And even some of the channels were activities are now complete have open threads where you can follow up with Feedback numbers (especially helpful if you were asked to file Feedback in a Lab or at Meet the Teams).
Is everyone else watching TV together without me? Now that the Vision Pro has launched, I keep seeing people say that "watching TV is a group activity" and man, I did not get that memo.

When Roe was overturned anti-abortion politicians promised to support women & families. One marker is paid family leave. Did any states w/ abortion bans enact it? No. Only 12 states have it & all are states where abortion IS legal & accessible. https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/4038665-anti-abortion-politicians-never-intended-to-support-women-and-children/
Just lost another author to Substack because we wouldn't let them use Medium to hate on transwomen. That's two this month.
Meanwhile, I bet we have 1000 active trans authors writing useful things about programming, management, relationships, psychedelics, data science, AI, gardening, entrepreneurship, art, video games, movies.
Bad senior engineers think that interns should only write test code. Good senior engineers put interns on simpler tasks with no supervision. Very good senior engineers put interns on hard problems and guide them the whole time.
Interns aren't there to save the company money in the short term, they're there to grow the next round of junior engineers to hire.

In case you are wondering if there's anything we can do.
Oh, and something I learned in my session that I'll mention here in case it helps save anyone else from a bit of confusion. To adopt the new watchOS 10 layout and design changes you really should be using a NavigationStack rather than a NavigationView. Otherwise, lots of things will not work quite as expected.
Also, it is very common that during your discussion in a Lab you will run into things where there is either a bug in the beta framework or you discover something you'd like to do but isn't currently possible.
When this happens write it down and file a Feedback as soon as you can. Getting the feedbacks filed in this early stage of the Beta cycle maximizes the likelihood that your concern will be able to be addressed before the public release this fall.
It is really interesting (and clever) how Apple is now encouraging consistency between complications through publishing a collection of recommended layout families. Back in the ClockKit days the complication families were programmatically enforced, which constrained what was possible in terms of visual design. This approach of strong recommendations but retaining complete implementation flexibility seems like a great compromise.
@_Davidsmith A developer I met with today put his list of questions in Trello and referred to it throughout the session. +1 to using the Presentation (Light or Dark) theme in Xcode. We had a productive discussion because of these moves!
In iOS 17.0, iPadOS 17.0, and Mac Catalyst Sonoma, we are making the following changes:
1. Apps build against those SDKs or later and do _not_ have the UIApplicationSupportsIndirectInputEvents key will have indirect input event support enabled
2. Apps build against those SDKs or later and _do_ have the UIApplicationSupportsIndirectInputEvents key present will have its value honored (either YES or NO) for now

Calvin's session is this one, where you can code along as he shows you how to build widgets for the Smart Stack on Apple Watch: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10029/
Oops, this is Ed’s session! Ed gives the design philosophy behind the Smart Stack for Apple Watch and helps you learn how to make your own widgets shine in this new system space. 🥳
Join a bunch of us—SwiftUI frameworks engineers, engineers who worked on updating apps like Weather, Activity, Workouts, and more for watchOS 10, and the designers who drove the evolution of watchOS—in a Q&A at 1pm PDT about updating your app for watchOS 10. We’re excited to answer your questions and hear about your ideas!! #wwdc23 https://developer.apple.com/wwdc23/111521
