SwiftUI is looking for interns!

FAQ:

* Both a frameworks internship (writing Swift) and a compiler internship (also writing C++) are available
* Unfortunately not remote friendly, but housing is provided
* Paid (I don't have exact numbers but I've heard it's typical FAANG internship rates)
* I can vouch for the hiring manager not being an asshole
* Usually 3 months starting in the spring but timing can be negotiated

We’re not against Christians, we're against Christian Nationalism. We're not fighting men, we’re fighting patriarchy. The target is not white people, it's white supremacy. We don't oppose heterosexuals, just homophobia. Join the work dismantling oppressive systems.

I've asked a similar version of this question before, but I'm going to ask again to clarify what I'm interested in. If you are a watch app developer who encourages users to put a complication from your app on their watch face so you get more background app refresh opportunities, what do you do with those opportunities, aside from updating the complication itself?

@colin Using my watch to pay my Tube fare made getting around London so easy.

Finally listened to the first 5 episodes of Ultra on a hike on Saturday and the last 3 on my evening walk tonight. Fascinating (and frightening) history… and a reminder that history repeats. rachel-maddow-presents-ultra.s

Apparently there are people out there who think it's inappropriate to use Mastodon to talk about books you've written or promote projects you've worked on because it's marketing and self-promotion?

I am not one of those people. I implore you to write about the work you have done and the things you have made - I want to hear about that stuff!

@forestahill It’d be over the heads of most kids. I love all the political and corporate intrigue.

This reminds me of when I listened to The Story of Star Wars, an abridged version of A New Hope, on vinyl as a kid while flipping through my Star Wars trading cards, arranged in the order the scenes appeared in the movie. (Yes I am GenX and remember a time before the VCR, much less streaming. I also remember getting A New Hope on videotape for Christmas, when it cost $80. I still have it.)

I had heard Andor was good, that the first couple episodes would seem slow, that you should watch it 3 episodes at a time, etc. I waited until the whole thing was available and then watched it over a couple nights with my spouse a couple weeks ago. I’ve now watched it two more times through just in the past week, and I’m now listening to music.apple.com/us/album/andor on the HomePods. I am so in.

Welcome, folks! Hope you find it nice and warm here, and not because of the fire next door. Please make yourself comfortable 😊☕️🍵🍰

Polite reminder, mastodon users with visual impairments went to a lot of trouble getting people to use the alternative text description facility on image uploads. Spending energy over the past 5 years reminding people in the kindest ways to caption images. Please lets not lose that ethos. There are so many photos without alternative text captions now. It isn't difficult to do, and only takes a little effort to develop the habit. #image #Caption

@rballard Yeah, there’s a real range of flavors just in plain olive oil from different regions.
