Today marijuana finally is legal in Minnesota. I personally don’t enjoy its intoxicating effects, but I’m a huge fan of expunging past marijuana convictions, safe and taxed distribution, expanded access for those who use it medicinally, and letting the people who just want to use it because they like it have legal access. This legalization, and many other reasons, is why voting for democrats is critical. Happy 4/20 in August, Minnesota!

"How do you misgender someone?"

When someone, in good faith, tells another person what their gender is, with words, or with how they present themselves and that person intentionally ignores them and talks about them as if they are another gender that's misgendering. It's almost always really rude.

It's like if you meet a guy whose ID says "Robert" and he says "call me Bob, I hate Robert" and you make a point of still calling him Robert.

The evidence that cars don’t work as primary mass transport in cities is everywhere: traffic jams, air pollution, accident rates, the shocking fraction of city space taken up by parking spaces, safety barriers/bollards etc. This 100 year experiment should be declared over, and we should put proper effort into the systems that HAVE been shown to work and scale: walking, cycling, e-cargo bikes, cheap/accessible/reliable public transport. This “argument” about LTNs is just lazy delay. #LTN #cities

If you were Black, you would see through the self-serving message, so it's strange that folks don't get that Black folk see through it too.

I assume you get why it's not a nice thing to say that "slavery helped black people in some ways" but I think some people miss why this particular idea is *exceptionally* racist.

One of the main arguments to justify slavery was that it "civilized" black people by making us Christian & teaching us obedience to our "betters." Black people were "lucky" or "better off" as slaves.

It assumes that when people were enslaved they had no skills, nothing to offer, that they were basically animals.
