@mamemomonga
Either way, there's no point in opening up the firewall for a local device that doesn't need external access. :/

@mamemomonga
Depending on how much data your server used- it might be more cost effective to host it at home.

All my servers are public-facing and I don't want to open any ports in my router. I already got into a fight over someone wanting to have a port foward for a locally used printer.

@mamemomonga
I use nanodes for all my servers.

I ran am Ark server once with Linode- I will NEVER do that again! I basically paid more than the cost of my cellphone bill for a personal videogame server that just sat there inoperable.

That was my fault though- not Linode's.

@mamemomonga in case of emergency, you can upload your small storage device toa private git repo in case your external disk or usb drive gets damaged or broken.

Got my in the mail today, along with a letter thanking me for being a member of . Might go grab their new t-shirt with that discount...

@NeikoCat it's so cold, I could overclock without fans pushing air and it'd be fine.

I currently work for someone in my preferred industry that I previously wanted to distance myself from.

Right after COVID lockdowns occurred in my state- I got a promotion. With the promotion, I work from home now. I can now afford a home unlike before and have spare time in the day to work on building myself towards getting a better job.

@GNUxeava
Yeah, I guess you might as well say "welcome to Facebook University"...

I was talking to some peeps on and was informed of how there's supposedly some outrage about the new Cyberpunk 2077 game and supposedly "anyone who buys a copy will owe the trans community $70".

I haven't searched through all the articles flooding the first page of , but this one gives he gist of some it, as it seems.

Mind you- I do still intend on playing it and harbor no I'll will towards anyone who's offended by it. I also will not hand you $70(still haven't found a source for that, but whatever).

There are plenty of offending games/videos/material out there that will offend *someone* , maybe even me(I've muted a lot of people on Mastodon). It's unfortunate the world we live in is hurtful and sometimes intolerant- but it's the ability to move past such differences that allow people to achieve great things. Hopefully, in time- everyone can be happy and will be able to sit down together and watch *the idiot box* together.
