@novichan
I've been meaning to implement a translation not for mastodon... Haven't gotten around to it though.

@trinsec
-My best friend introduced me to mechanical keyboards- expanding on that into custom mechanical in keyboards- and showing me his custom egrodox infinity at his workplace.
-This prompted me to get into the hobby and I slowly learned and built my first board which was a GH60 Satan PCB with Clear Gateron Switches and blank, clear keycaps.
-The process not which required me to know how to solder, de/resolder- as well as flash firmware on the keyboard.
-This new hobby/aesthetic made me feel a little cyberpunk but actually helped me get my job at SomeSemicondcitorCompany. This was a big deal for me because I got to get away from 'normies' and earned 2x I made before.
-Today I continue the hobby and try to convince in others to do the same if not for the physical(ergonomic, etc) benefits or personalized aesthetic, but to improve themselves by learning, experimentation and expanding their knowledge/skill-set.

Just for the heck of it, (ask me anything). I'll answer some questions for the next 8-12 hrs. I don't think anyone would be interested, but hey- why not offer?

@FailForward
-I've used the web interface maybe once
-i frequently weed out what I don't want to see using "mute"; "follow" those people I find promising.
-i repost things I like or find interesting. Not much happens in my daily life to warrant mentioning.
-Hashtags help people find your posts, but aren't required in general- you do you.
-Ive yet to fully try immersion into the "groups" thing. Maybe I'll try it this weekend.
-i have a better peace of mind using this platform than FB or twitter (though the latter is a handy tool).

Can we please stop talking about a geomagnetic reversal as if it is some sort of extinction level event. There have been at least 25 geomagnetic pole reversals since humans evolved 6 million years ago and we are still here. If it happens it may cause all sorts of technological challenges and perhaps some ecological ones, but it will not be anything close to an extinction level event.

Birdwatch cemetery.

Those who spent too much time, died doing what they didn't truly feel passionate about.

There's something I don't understand...

I'd trust a German or Italian telling me how fucked up shit can be within a Fascist state. Even if someone didn't live during the times of Nazi Germany, or Fascist Italy, the horrid stories do pass from grandparents to parents to children. People in such countries have a better understanding of how a fascist state works than, for example, people from UK, that have only seen fascism from the outside.

So why don't people trust People from Eastern Europe that lived under communism for many decades, much closer to the present day than when Fascism existed? When we tell you that communism doesn't work, why won't you believe us, when we already went through this horrible experiment? Our collective memories of the crimes of communism are clearly much fresher than the collective memories of Nazi Germany.

So why this double standard in how serious you take the testimonies of fascist horrors, but deny the ones of communism, and accuse us of not remembering right, or being factually wrong somehow? It's been almost 80 years since Nazism ended. How do you know you're not misremembering how bad fascism is? How do you know the true beauty of fascism hasn't been muddied up by so much passage of time?

It's barely been 31 years since communism ended where I live. Don't you think we might know better?

@Hyolobrika @cowanon
It's cool, I'll let you be part of the unboxing when it gets here.
