@mamemomonga
I want to get a VR headset and try to use that instead of a monitor.

@eff

Now, i'm somewhat on the fence about this. I support the idea of the passports as a short-term solution, but ultimately am too against it afterwards. Although I would like to get back to functioality asap- I do not want to permanetly sacrifice my freedoms/liberties to do so.

Somewhat flawed but poetic...

Not that anyone cares- but apparently Intel employees are getting free and exclusive on-site administrations of the pfizer COVID vaccine.

I'm still waiting for the US to start localizing semiconductor manufacturing. Maybe that wont happen.

@absturztaube
Ah, its depicting "Mastodon gGmbH" and not assuming Mastodon as a whole. Big difference to me and I feel better about it.

@absturztaube
can a federation or hivemind be a legal entity? I thought that was reserved for corporate monopolies controlling nations. I don't think the fediverse is ready for that responsibility.

another tip for users:::

(Updating ringtone)

Per the wiki:
"The default ringtone for Mobian Phosh can be found at /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/phone-incoming-call.oga"

My immediately solution is to run (within the /stereo/ folder in terminal) 'mv *.oga incoming.oga.old' and move/copy a new *.oga file in its place. If you don't have a *.oga ringtone file ready, you can *try* and use ffmpeg to convert it. After conversion, rename it to the original filename and place it back accordingly.

Eg.)
"ffmpeg -i SomeAudioFileBlah.mp3 phone-incoming-call.oga"

^^^ converts Some...mp3 to phone...oga

Just got done *yet again* getting rid of a lot of my junk bookmarks... I feel sufficiently accomplished for tonight.

tip for users::
When messing with alsamixer to adjust the volumes- I had accidentally muted/disabled my rear speaker and the volume was low on the earpiece. I ended up using 3rd party sites to ring my phone until i figured out the settings that allowed me to hear my phone ring again.

callmylostphone.com
callmyphone.org/

Settings:::
f6 > pinephone::::
headphone=100
headphone =mixer
linein=100
lineout=100
lineout=stereo
mic1=100
mic1boost=0
mic2=100
mic2boost=0
adc digital=m
aif1 da0=100
aif1 da0=stereo
aif1 slo=00
aif2=100
aif2 dac=aif2+3
aif2 dac=stereo
aif2 dig=00
dac=100
dac reve=00
earpiece=100
earpiece=dacl

TBH I don't fully know what I'm doing but its possible i might have to tweak these settings again soon. Hope this helps.

@guskma
Neat! Though, I don't think we should be replacing plants any time soon(if at all).
