just noticed that with the new #mobian #pinephone update, the screen now auto-updates. Neat! Now how are we on getting a percentage/time display within the battery life icon?

another tip for #pinephone #mobian users:::
(Updating ringtone)
Per the wiki:
"The default ringtone for Mobian Phosh can be found at /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/phone-incoming-call.oga"
My immediately solution is to run (within the /stereo/ folder in terminal) 'mv *.oga incoming.oga.old' and move/copy a new *.oga file in its place. If you don't have a *.oga ringtone file ready, you can *try* and use ffmpeg to convert it. After conversion, rename it to the original filename and place it back accordingly.
Eg.)
"ffmpeg -i SomeAudioFileBlah.mp3 phone-incoming-call.oga"
^^^ converts Some...mp3 to phone...oga

tip for #pinephone users::
When messing with alsamixer to adjust the volumes- I had accidentally muted/disabled my rear speaker and the volume was low on the earpiece. I ended up using 3rd party sites to ring my phone until i figured out the settings that allowed me to hear my phone ring again.

In case anyone hasn't been following the recent drama with the Linux Kernel...
--Past patches sent by students at University of Minnesota http://www.umn.edu/ Have been deliberately maleficent(acting with ill-intent)
--Suspicion is linked to one of the professor's submitted papers
https://github.com/QiushiWu/QiushiWu.github.io/blob/main/papers/OpenSourceInsecurity.pdf
--The target group at the University gets called-out by Greg Hartman
--Response back was "I respectfully ask you to cease and desist from making wild accusations that are bordering on slander." ending with "I will not be sending any more patches due to the attitude that is not only unwelcome but also intimidating to newbies and non-experts."
--The university has since been banned from submitting further patches. Its past commits have been reversed just in case..
--Since the ban, the university is supposedly looking into that matter internally

==It is said by multiple people from several sites(like the bird) that they tried warning about this in the past but were ignored and that this is just an 'overreaction' of sorts.
++With as big a project as this is, I can understand why some concerns here and there may get overlooked from time to time. Regardless, I believe such behavior on a massive and critical publically-dependant project should not be tolerated. The magnitude of retaliation/punishment however, is unclear and at best skeptical to me.
