It is important for everyone to realize when they are being manipulated or not. This may be a controversial subject to many- but the core answer remains simple:: practicing critical thinking and 'properly' utilizing the scientific method will yield the best results.

Many people with confuse, obfuscate or distort one or both of these and often meet an unfortunate end-conclusion.
Please, think yourself and do your research on _only_ credible material- and _never_ those who merely confirm your bias.
