@lupyuen

I agree though, that an long unedited video of an in-person conference is really difficult to watch and forces the viewer to do their own editing by fastforwarding and skiping through that long video.

@lupyuen

Some people are more visual learners, so they appreciate a spoken presentation. But writing it down forces you to organize the material better.

I think a nice, scripted and tightly edited video presention is a wonderful way to present many topics. But that takes a lot of work and requires certain skills to pull off properly.

@lupyuen - What about "How to think like a computer scientist", but a Rust edition? (There is a python edition already).

@lupyuen Do you think Shriram will join Mastodon? It would be nice to get some Racket in the feed...

Yesterday would be the 35th birthday of Aaron Swartz.

He's been fighting for a free and open Internet and has tragically passed away after a legal battle in 2013.

He's been an important part of Creative Commons, Reddit (co-founder), Open Library, Demand Progress and many more.

Did you know that the European Union had an official Mastodon instance where only official EU institutions could open an account?

No need to pay for a blue checkmark, accounts on this instance are, by definition, officials.

That’s Fediverse done right!

I have posted a very detailed write-up of my Game Boy Pocket SP mod, including details on design process and fabrication. I also included instructions on how to replicate the build yourself! https://posts.decontextualize.com/pocket-sp/

@codemonkeymike Oh dear goodness... where to start? The #Fediverse is chock full of developers, so it all depends on what projects you're interested in! Personally I enjoy following @dansup of #Pixelfed fame, also @lupyuen who does interesting things with many tiny devices, @Karlitschek lead dev for @nextcloud as well as official project accounts for @yunohost @inkscape @owncast @GIMP @kdenlive @kde @godotengine ...and that's just off the top of my head. What type of projects do you love?

Rebuilding community here. Who are some #developer and #linux peeps I should be following? Feel free to “retoot?” Lol
