I sat by an election denier on the airplane and he started poking me in the arm to be emphatic about his views on people stealing ballots secretly and the airplane was full and I couldn’t move anywhere so I started explaining the yellow fever in very great detail, all the way down to telling him about the bloody vomit that looks like coffee grounds and it worked. He stopped talking to me. The moral of this story is you can’t out-weird an academic; our toolset is too vast. #vastearlyamerica

That's not a snow drift....THIS is a snow drift! What you are looking at is Taughannock Falls in Upstate, NY. This waterfall is 215ft tall. What you are seeing is about 125ft of it. Those tiny people on the right, are standing on a HOLLOW snow bank over 75ft deep. The mist here make it's own snow when the conditions are right. The "instagrammers" are oblivious to the danger they are in. If it collapsed, they would not survive. Be careful out there!! Likes aren't worth it.

Shoutout to Gargron for building Mastodon.

I don't want to just be posting about numbers like a clock, but the 2 million mark of monthly active users across the network is a pretty big deal. This is going big numbers! Shout out to all the server operators who are absorbing this wave.

As some of you know, as well as looking at #torcs & #gold, I also make #chocolate #archaeological #artefacts .

It's a #hobby, I don't sell them & often only make something a couple of times. I do it for the challenge!

As we're heading into the weekend, here's one I made earlier: a chocolate #replica of the #Netherurd torc, as it might have been.
