@mehdihasan Yes, and with a federated, decentralized alternative like Mastodon, they can still have a voice. Funded by the masses on federated servers in hundreds of countries around the globe.

@mehdihasan So many dog rescue groups on there too..I've literally seen dogs rescued right before my eyes on Twitter. Sad that is going to go away 😭

Think of people around the world tonight who need Twitter to get their voices heard, to document human rights abuses and injustices, to get attention, expose war crimes, and more.

All of them could be about to be cut off because the world’s richest man wanted to own the libs.

Twitter is now an insecure platform, haemmorhaging security experts. It could haemmorhage your DMs, through leak or sale.

Thinking I might curate my experience on mastodon much more tightly so that it can be something that's a positive in my life rather than it making me angry all the time like twitter
