@fifilamoura @Wolven @michaelgemar @davidgerard I would posit that transhumanism is incomplete without queer liberation.
This includes furries, who are by our very premise so ridiculously weird that any notions of ideological purity will fail to entrap most of us. (Though the fash *do* try.)
Well-intended folks exploring these ideas should celebrate weirdness, even when someone's weirdness is mellow, while always opposing any notions of tradition or hierarchy.

Twister was toxic even before Elmo. He just made it more so.
Leaving Elmo's hate collective has given me a far more peaceful mind. Less teeth grinding hypertensive stress.
Granted there were some pleasant groups of folk, but we were always culling out right wing whackjobs and evilgelicals. It just got worse.
Mastodon is a real breath of fresh air- almost reminds me of the internet before such things as fakebook and birdchan existed.
For those who are still transitioning just stay away from the hellcite for a couple of weeks and your withdrawls will subside.
“Both Sides Brace for New Combat in Abortion War”
That’s the lead headline in the online New York Times now. For me it requires a content warning, because “Both Sides” tells us that yet again the Times is going to take a political situation that is inherently asymmetrical and try to make everything balance.
And look at the language used to frame this issue. It’s all about winning and losing …
“Both Sides Brace for New Combat in Abortion War”
“Combat.” “War.” “Shifting battles.” “Winning issue.” “Girding for fresh combat.” “New battlefronts.” “Momentum.” “A long fight.”
What if the editors said: No more “both sides.” No more metaphors from sporting events and war. Tell us what various politicians propose, what they are planning to do, and how it will affect women and their health care.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Albert Einstein believed there are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle
Personally, I am grateful for every little thing in life. The illusion that things can be taken for granted can only lead to great sorrow.
Twitter PLEASE USE Nitter if you are linking to the other site
@kims @gregggonsalves This is exactly why I keep urging people to post links to the h*llscape of a h*llsite via Nitter instead. It deprives the other site of clicks.
Bonus, you can use Advanced Search syntax to retrieve what you need from your own Twitter feed.
I can't delete mine because it's got too much evidence of the #COVID19 #disinformation campaigns from 2021. It's ironclad proof Twitter is responsible for the #pandemic not being over, and in fact, now being unstoppable.

For the record: Dr. Fauci has done nothing wrong, except serve our nation. In the meantime, Mr. Musk should know that 200,000 Americans needlessly lost their lives from Covid due to this kind of antiscience rhetoric and disinformation. Elon, I’m asking you to take down this Tweet https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1601894132573605888

“Currently, most governments spend far more on subsidies that actually are destroying nature than they do on financing conservation. So, certainly a change in that will be critical.” https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/12/09/climate/biodiversity-habitat-loss-climate.html?unlocked_article_code=4FLqBfj-XeSD_ZqsPsUfWAZW4BCm8dR94TgJc9vweKF9mZ5vnuLdcLtsbzodpfBCQfyThpTHUqbBMgfEJtchE_IyZ3abmeol07Ip-ohvfEtMh9Jp9O-tJqyp9xC6b7tz-krsUK13F0COfj_WI2jvC-An4es6TYQDV4TsfpenmE0bzHATFYN6BJoa2H34B6aw1zgGNR6e-IUSIYXDYFvCOVSmUpPWEjvhXZUObjsCeVsn5jPJCWm2tLc2NY3-X9KrucFH0ZnwTQ4h_8z6BsVOCuwuZuaavk-2DlJweLY3UH7QRzx66VKQxAkf38xL6JqT37hdI8VS4VR0xxCiTH0xKp72CjxuYpTEJciNWFwmSVL9lbKEfbgfuke2NQ&smid=share-url
I’ve been using #mastodon for about a month. I like everything that the folk I follow post/re blog so I end up reblogging nearly everything I see. I hope that’s ok. The quality of photos and art is so good that I’ve almost stopped using #instagram. I still use #twitter for fave journalists and activists (especially in the #globalhealth field) who haven’t moved here. I sometimes use local/community feed to find additional interesting people. Essentially: thanks for the great posts and reblogs.
Hey, remember when we learned that a right-wing terrorist network extensively planned a violent coup to overthrow the German government and constitution and establish a reactionary, ethnic nationalist, authoritarian monarchy with them as its leaders, and this network included members of the German judiciary, the police, one of its major political parties, the army, and many members of the bourgeois (and formerly royal) societal elite? That was earlier this week.
9/ The biggest problem with the Internet nowadays is increasing centralization.
What do I mean by this?
That there's an alarming decrease in sites that people visit on the Internet.
There's a trend to do everything on one site -- or to even bypass the Internet entirely and do it on one app.
In fact, there's a VC-driven race right now to build an "everything app". That's the end goal.
Should we let that happen? No!
This is why we should continue to build websites -- and visit them!
10/ That said, we should never look at the web as the only tool for re-building the public square.
The Internet is bigger than the web.
To work for a more equitable, fair Internet, we need to build for:
1. The Web
2. Email
3. Chat (IRC, XMPP, The Matrix, etc.)
4. Social Media
5. File sharing
We can't let our foot off the gas pedal because certain powers-that-be are trying to do their damnedest to make us forget that the Internet was designed to be decentralized.
Let's give them hell!
