My recommendations that I wish satellite companies would follow are:
1. Access to the unpolluted night sky is a human right and should be protected
2. Keep Low Earth Orbit collision-free
3. Minimize atmospheric pollution (both on launch and re-entry)
4. No uncontrolled re-entries
5. International regulation for satellite orbits and numbers

Launching fewer satellites will help with all of these!

Today was movie day in my election integrity class. We deconstructed Pillow Guy and other "stop the steal" videos.

It really struck me how deep a background you need to reliably spot the faulty logic or outright fabrications. The students did fine, but if you're predisposed to believe the elections were rigged, these videos provide easy comfort food.

Hearing strong indications that lawmakers will try to move the Kids Online Safety Act (#KOSA) during the "lame duck" session. This is a terrible bill that won't make kids safer online but will subject them to censorship and surveillance. It could lead to biometric age verification, widespread removal of LGBTQ+ content, and a bunch of other bad crap. Very few civil society groups have spoken out against it.
