The fact that the Furries are all moving to Mastodon tell me that this is the platform that will replace the birdsite.

It's the usual life cycle of any technology: it begins with the Furries, it dies when it becomes a marketing tool.

@simon ActivityPub is much, much more interesting to me than Mastadon on its own.

Major Twitter influencers are pushing a supposed replacement called Post. It may be great (I'm not allowed to use it so far) but it's yet another proprietary, closed (in terms of interoperability), centralized social network.

Great for the A list and vCs. Not great for me.

I've seen a few folks join Mastodon and complain that it's too difficult to follow people on other servers, with the cutting and pasting and whatnot. But @bramus has now created a neat Chrome extension (or bookmarklet, if you prefer to go that route) that let's you avoid all that hassle.

We have clear rules about child porn as is shown below. I was asked but someone about it and at the time we had never had to address it so I mentioned tthe moderators would need to vote to get it added to our rules.. moments later we voted and added it... Naturally the person lied and posted out of context about the vote and never bothered to let people know we updated our rules moments later.

As to his comment about kiwifarms.. lets be clear. I saw a list on a website whose domain name was not associated with kiwifarms as far as I knew.. it just so happened that list was generated using a tool that happened to be written by kiwifarms... obviously I didnt know this.
