Hi everyone! My name is Jess and I’m a junior Binghamton University (class of 2023). I’m a #chemistry major, a #biology major, and a #politicalscience major! This semester, I applied for PhD programs (and was recently accepted!) in #Chemicalbiology and adjacent fields in hopes of one day becoming a professor! I have spent my career in education, now working at the intersection of #education, #edtech, and #IT - as an administrator and also teach in an instructional technology program. My professional interests focus around #edtech policy, #oer, #accessibility, and #opensource and #cybersecurity in K-12.

Outside of work, I'm a huge nerd and a trekkie, and my husband and I are adopting two toddlers thorough #fostercare.

I'm Josh Carlson. I'm a GIS Developer for Kendall County, Illinois, USA, where I manage our GIS portal and keep the tax maps up to date, among many other things.

We're an #esri org, but I like to push #QGIS, #PostGIS, and #OpenStreetMap whenever possible.

Outside of work, I map, knit, forage, fiddle with Python, read, cook, and cycle. I try my best to keep up with my wife and three young sons.

I only wear socks I knit.
