Yeah it's pretty easy to see where the dividing line is now

Theocratic vs Secular
Authoritarian vs Democratic
Rural vs Urban
White supremacy vs Diversity
Past vs Future

How it breaks down in terms of population percentages is often also skewed; it isn't 'half' the country that is the MAGA tards, it's less than 20%.

I'm curious how many #CommunityCollege folks are experience restrictions on what they can and can't do in their classrooms? Your thoughts and resources for protecting #AcademicFreedom would be appreciated! @edutooters #edutooter

Do all the people on Twitter using the platform to complain about Elon ad nauseum not understand that if they left the platform and stopped engaging, it would turn into Parler, lose its advertisers and die? It's just a private app that monetizes off of engagement. So don't engage.

Who is so tired of hearing about Twitter? People, this is Mastodon. Leave it on Twitter!!

Android users: "Bro, just get an android. It's cheaper and has a backdoor to China. You can save on plane tickets."
Apple users: "It's so easy to find your keys, just pay $30 to attach a GPS tracker to it."

In November, there were some great submissions for the 2022 Game Jam. Core devs worked on graphics and gamepad support. In late October, #Minetest was used as an urban planning tool to engage students in their community’s planning process

Necesito ayuda #mastodon.

Mil abrazos.

Are you curious what mastodon.sdf.org is all about? I've noticed many wonderful people have chosen their home there.

Here you go --

One of the classes I've taught over the years is a #freshmen #CollegeSuccess course. An activity I've done at the end of the semester is to have students write letters of advice to future students, who then read & reflect on the anonymous letters. Here's a sample activity and some letters of advice: canvas.instructure.com/courses

Finally writing my #introduction! I've always been interested in new #technologies and how to use them for good. Been a #vegetarian for many years. Loving the #CarFree life, even in #Tucson. Enjoying my #ebike. Was a #DigitalNomad from 2013-17 -- loved living in #Oaxaca, #ChiangMai, #Budapest, & other cities. Lived in #Boston most of my adult life, worked for #MIT Libraries for 14 years. I'm a #librarian, mainly working on #UX and #e-learning. Still wearing #masks to avoid spread of #COVID.

Young folks are moving in with their parents in record numbers. Meet 5 making it work - Multigenerational living is on the rise, and the trend is growing fastest among Gen Zers and millennials. #npr

In IT the problems are solvable. We can adopt systematic troubleshooting steps and most problems can be identified and resolved in minutes or a few hours. (Yes, I have problems that extended much longer—all IT professionals have—but those tend to be rare.) IT professionals have knowledge of the systems they manage, and they have resources (from online communities, colleagues, vendors, and even user manuals) to help them resolve unfamiliar problems. When their problems are solved, all users can recognize the green LED’s that signal functioning connections, operational computers, and—in schools—smiling teachers.

Long, long time ago, I participated in a Birdbrain Technologies workshop for teachers about integrating robotics into the curriculum. In this case it was poetry and robotics. Together with my lab partner, Bob Kahn, we made this Tyger, tyger project.
I’m still fond of this project, specially for the amount of time we had to work on it. The workshop was taught by the wondeful Kelsey Derringer from codejoy.com who I highly recommend.

One of my favorite projects.
The cat is inspired/based on my first cat, Gally, and his “love” of butterflies. Fortunately for the butterflies, Gally was the kind of cat that would wiggle his butt forever and forget to pounce.
The closer you get to the distance sensor aka butterfly, the faster the cat wiggles his butt.
