Hi, All,

Since I've been here there have been many folks that have shared lists of Birdsite accounts that are also on Mastodon. @WalterShaub started it for me. Huge list. Plus there are what I could glean with DeBirdify and just what I've picked up this week. It totals 467 accounts.

The file is at the Google Docs link below. If you can open it in Sheets, you can File->Download it. Save it as *.CSV (Comma Separated Values) file as that is the format Mastodon expects.

There are instructions everywhere. Here's one.

The file is a text file so you can edit it as you like. Just be sure to delete entire lines.

If you already follow an account in the file, Mastodon will ignore it.

Just passing on the gifts.

FWIW. HTH.

Here’s my introduction. I’m a #writer, #professor & #curator. I love to #run and am looking for other creatives who are into movements of all kinds. Ie: former poets who write prose, essayists who are turning to the stage, Academics who are shaking up the Academy, all creatives who are creating from the body outward. Make it meow. Make it bend. Make it feel. Make it pace. Make it the future. #PostTwitter #poets #poetrunners #peformancepoets #emodiedwriting #activistcreatives #runnersofmastodon

A surprising number of people have reached out to me asking why WIRED doesn't have its own Mastodon instance, or to express the idea that media outlets in general should be setting up their own instances. I understand the appeal of this idea, especially in terms of verification, but I want to talk about why journalists are going to be resistant to that. 🧵

This photograph is from Glacier National Park. It was my very first workshop on my very first morning on my first journey into landscape photography.

Sharing another @indigenousauthors

Why Indigenous Literatures Matter (2018) by Daniel Heath Justice.

An absolutely must-read text.

Daniel deleted twitter years ago, but it would be good to bump into him on Mastodon. #WishfulThinking

This is one of my favourite educational images so I’m going to share it just because. #languages #world

So, I teach #history classes on my website. I have an in-depth class, in video format with optional readings, that's a deep dive into the Pearl Harbor attack of December 1941. It is free, but you *do* have to sign up. This is what I love to do and people who've taken the class do seem to enjoy it! #histodons #EduTooters

Is there a #Fediverse alternative to privately-owned sites such as #ACADEMIA and #RESEARCHGATE? Ideally something that's open to independent scholars working in the humanities. #HigherEd #Phd #phdchat #academic #AcWri

Some things we do are so clearly effective that the research hasn’t bothered to demonstrate it… or the obviously faulty research found that it wasn’t effective… so we have to create the data ourselves. The benefit of this version of research is you always prove you are right.

Now, the problem is lots of folks in education (none of whom are here on this platform) will not see the sarcasm I intended.
