Rubio of FL introduced, & in a bit of a sneak attack, got approved via Senate unanimous consent, a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time - the thing we just fell back from - permanent year round for all states. However! The House has not passed it & almost certainly will not do so before this Congress ends on 1/2/2023. Which means FL’s law will remain inoperative unless Rubio wins, re-introduces it in the next Congress and can get past the commercial interests that like the status quo.+

So far, while a new journalist-specific mastodon instance has been created and is beginning to take off, none of the Congressional journalists that we rely on has shown up there (as of yesterday when last we looked). So, we’ll periodically be telling you about things we’ve learned on The Other Site, but we’re going to avoid just sending users there on the assumption that you’re here because you don’t want to go there. Whew. Enough prologue.

I wrote a post about my migration. My top advice:
1. Switch to light mode. Makes a huge difference.
2. Select. the advanced web interface in settings. It's like Tweetdeck; much better view of everything.
